Drug-Prevention Awareness Highlighted During Busan Marathon Event
A large-scale drug-prevention awareness campaign took place at the 27th International Busan Marathon in Dadaepo Beach Park on November 16, 2025. The initiative aimed to provide citizens with accurate information on drug misuse, early prevention strategies, and the growing influence of drug-related slang among youth.
The campaign featured an interactive booth where visitors participated in O/X quizzes, viewed educational materials, and learned key terminology related to drug misuse. Volunteers explained how casual slang can unintentionally make harmful substances appear less serious, emphasizing the importance of public awareness.
More than 8,000 runners and spectators received drug-prevention information or participated in the activities during the event. Many attendees appreciated the approachable, quiz-based format, which made the subject matter easier to understand.
The organizers plan to expand similar programs throughout the region, aiming to increase public knowledge of drug safety, encourage early awareness among young people, and promote healthier decision-making within local communities.
