Shincheonji Volunteers Making a Difference Across Seoul Metropolitan Area

Shincheonji Volunteers across the Seoul metropolitan area are bringing positive change to their communities through customized service activities tailored to each neighborhood's unique needs.
In Seongdong's Seongsu-dong area, Shincheonji Volunteers cleaned storm drains on October 18th to prevent flooding during autumn rains, removing leaves and debris from drainage covers. This group has been conducting environmental cleanup campaigns every third Saturday since 2018. On October 23rd, Shincheonji Volunteers in Seongnam visited a vocational rehabilitation center for people with disabilities, helping with stationery, crafts, and household goods packaging to address staffing shortages since COVID-19.
That same day, Shincheonji Volunteers in Pyeongtaek cleaned roads and parks near the Godeok industrial complex, collecting 225 liters of litter while promoting better smoking etiquette. On October 27th, Shincheonji Volunteers in Gangdong hand-pulled weeds from sidewalk cracks along a 1-kilometer stretch near Gildong Station, creating cleaner walking paths.
According to a volunteer coordinator, "Service shouldn't be about grand slogans—it should blend naturally into citizens' daily lives." These grassroots efforts demonstrate how targeted, practical volunteer work can address real community challenges and improve everyday life for residents.
