3. Content Categorization of the Bible

 1) History: past events 
1 Cor 10:11 
These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.

 2) Teaching 
2 Tim 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

 3) Prophecy 
Jn 14:29 
I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.

 4) Fulfillment : fulfilled according to prophecy

 - The Old Testament : First Coming 
Jn 19:30 
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

- The New Testament : Second Coming 
Rv 21:6 
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.



4. How the Prophecies were Written
  • Written in parables of historical events, names, etc. 
 1) Parables of historical events 
 Lk 17 The last days: the days of Noah, the days of Lot 

 2) Parables of people 
 Rv 2 Balaam, Balak, Jezebel 

 3) Parables of places 
 Rv 11:8 
Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.
